We prefer to get take away from this local restaurant as the service is soooooo slow & the restaurant is overcrowded & noisy. But the food is always of a high standard. Fish cakes are good. Noodles & curry are lovely. Medium price.

I would have to say that this is one of the worst restaurants we have ever been to. I was so embarrassed as I had taken interstate guests there. The food was unappetising, especially the spaghetti bolognese which looked like it had a can of Pal tipped over it. It tasted comparable to said Pal. The service was excruciatingly slow & the young staff looked right through you. Then when we asked to order coffee, we were ordered to leave as their other reservation for the same table had arrived - they had double booked the table - & their super slow service had caught up with us. We had not even finished our wine, so we were told we could take our bottle with us, & the kids' desserts were packed up. The only saving grace was that the said desserts were deducted from our bill. We were stunned & embarrassed. Never again. There are too many restaurants in Melbourne to suffer this kind of treatment.

I was delighted to find a really good Malaysian restaurant serving a fantastic nasi lemak special. The curry here, esp the chicken curry, is very good. My partner recommends the roti chanai & chicken with plum sauce. This has become a favourite. Take away is great too. Highly recommended, though I am not too keen on their sambal dishes. Have had better .

The food & service here is wonderful. We even get our take away fish & chips from here now. It is the best fish & chips you'll ever eat. Just so light & tasty. Not stodgy. And they also have skewers of chilli or garlic prawns & scallops which are delicious. I have never had a bad meal at this place. They also have reasonably priced seafood platters which are magnificent for a special occasion. These can also be bought to take away. The calamari is always very well cooked - not rubbery. The service is friendly & prompt. The ambience is typically bistro - chairs are not very comfy, but who cares as you savour the best seafood in town at the best price.

If you like chocolate, this place is for you. There are mounds of chocolate you could purchase to eat. But that's as far as it goes food-wise. Don't go there if starving. The hot chocolate I had to drink was just lovely. My husband's coffee was very good. We were the only customers there. It was very dark & gloomy. Is it always like this ? I would suggest some nice cakes & bikkies to have with your cuppa.

we went as a family. Food was good. Cheap with hearty serves. Service was friendly & prompt. We had the chicken parmigiana which was lovely. Made up for the awful ambience. I didn't see the beer garden. If there is one, I recommend eating there.

I know that this place has had a problem with the health inspector, but I figure that now they must be quite clean as they are in the department's orbit. I get takeaway from here - I like the beef & rice stick noodle soup & the prawn spring rolls. Hubby likes the fried fish of the day. We are very happy with our orders & have found nothing but the necessary ingredients in our food. Food is tasty & it is one of the better Vietnamese restaurants in the area

We happened to go to Georges last night for dinner. We had intended to go to Italy 1 but it didn't open till 6 pm & the rude waitress obviously wasn't happy that we had kids with us. She was just AWFUL. Off we went next door at 5.55pm to Georges. The range of food on the menu was so-so. The prices were in the higher bracket. But it is Burke Rd Camberwell & it is a huge restaurant. There is a kid's menu. Heaps of families there. The food was very good. My lasagna was filling - too huge a serve to eat. My husband's steak was very good. No room for dessert. Children loved it there. The waiters were very good to the kids & very accommodating & attentive to us all.

Approximate cost: $20-30

This is where we go for yum cha when my husband's cravings sky rocket. There is a huge range so if you don't like something, you know that something delicious will follow. Well worth going. It is moderately priced. Though if you get over excited you will be surprised by the bill !! The seafood/prawn dumplings are lovely. Service is prompt if brusque. However, if you have a particular request, they will find it for you. Roast duck is very good. Toilets are clean.
