I am appalled a the customer service I have received from Temple & Webster. I ordered a couch 1 month ago for my business rooms, I contacted them 2 days ago to follow up on my order and they said it had been cancelled as they had run out of stock. They did not contact me with this information, I had to go looking for it and they were very unhelpful on the phone. They said they would call back within 24-48 hours, they did not. I am now waiting for a call back from a manager, which I doubt I will even receive. I will not be shopping with them again.

I purchased the Black Alouette Faux Leather Dining Chairs. We ordered 8 and have only had 4 delivered. Still waiting to hear when the other 4 will turn up, if at all. I went online to discuss this with their 'chat' function and it took them 18 minutes to determine they needed to transfer me to their delivery colleagues. I then sat waiting for one of those colleagues to respond. I really don't understand how you deliver only 4 chairs when 8 have been ordered.

The description of the chairs describes them as "Upholstery Material: Faux Leather". They are in no way faux leather, they are entirely plastic. As my husband said, they are the sort of chairs you sit on at the football. They have a faux leather padded seat, that is all. There is absolutely no mention of there being any plastic in the description. I looked at returning the items, however we would be slogged with almost double the shipping cost that we paid for the chairs to be delivered. We would have ended up about $400 out of pocket because of delivery charges. Not to mention that there is no refund, but store credit. The store credit will be of no value because I won't be buying from T&W again in my life.

I am not even sure their returns policy meets the statutory requirements, so I am going to look into this. Certainly the description is not accurate.

I previously ordered and paid for a rug, only to be later advised that it was not in stock. They held on to my money for a bit and eventually refunded. I should have known then.

All in all, a great disappointment and I would urge anyone to think twice before buying from this company, as I am not sure that they are legitimate.

Don’t advise that stock is not available until well after order is paid - then have to wait months for something could easily have got elsewhere - definitely avoid

I purchased a bed on preorder and waited a month, heard nothing from the company and contacted them to enquire on the status of my order only to be told the item is out of stock and I wold need to be refunded. So they took my money for an item they didn't even have, failed to contact me to inform me of this, and the first customer service person I spoke to was extremely unsympathetic to my situation. Complete fraud of a company, reading more reviews now from other people who are claiming they had the same experience. Paid for an item, wait for it, only to be told its out of stock. That's how they must keep their cash flow coming, total scam.

I look at the 4.4 star review TW claims and it makes me want to cry. It's an awful business to deal with, at every level except for the online chat, where operators are responsive bless them, but also ineffective in a sense they can't really do anything about anything. It all started for me about 6 months ago, when it's bought a bed frame, mistakenly after my partner had told me to buy another one. 6 hours after, I tried to void the sale and buy the right one that was also more expensive. Should be easy right, just pay a bit of extra cash and get the right product. Well it's not. TW online told me they couldn't do anything because the delivery process had already been initiated, when I received an email telling me the product estimated time of shipment was 6 days later. So I tried to call, and waited 25 minutes hanging only to be hung up on all of a sudden. Tried again and waited 17 minutes to talk to an operator who told me exactly the same thing. So I had to receive my unwanted e-mail that hadn't been sent yet, to return it (undamaged - as if there was something I could do about it). Well after 6 days, when the unwanted item was supposed to be shipped, I received an email saying the unwanted item was going to be shipped a few days later than expected. The item took about a couple of weeks to reach me. Now, you'd think that's cool. But I had to pay to return the shipment because I didn't pay for the change of mind option TW offers you to pay at purchase time. But so it was. A week later, I got an email saying I had been refunded. The funds were nowhere to be seen on my account, so I responded to that representative via email, asking what was going on. A week later, seeing no response, I called again, waited another 12 minutes to be told I had been refunded on my TW account, meaning I had to spend that money again at TW and within 12 months. I'm not sure if this is even legal practice, but after nearly a month and half, didn't have the guts to bring it to the ACCC attention. Of course I didn't want to deal with that awful business again. But they still had 250$ of my money. So 6 months later, I purchased an office chair with my store credit. Estimated time of shipment was 10 days later this time. 10 days later, I received an email saying it was delayed by 3 days. Today, I'm receiving an e-mail saying that it will now be sent in 20 days. Well I guess I've learnt from my past experience, I'm tamed and will quietly wait for the almighty TW to deliver the goods... In fear of wasting further energy for nothing. I'm disgusted. This is an awful operation, clunky, unresponsive, and if it operates this way in its good right, it doesn't make it feel right by any means. Stay away from these crooks unless you like to suffer. It may sound excessive but it really is not! Hope this may help the potential future victims!

We unfortunately bought a white bed that when delivered was actually GREY. We have had no end of problems with them trying to resolve the issue and have had to go to consumer affairs. STAY AWAY!!! The company blatantly practices false advertising as can be seen by other reviews.

Temple & Webster have the worst customer service I've ever experienced. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. If you need to call them they will make you wait on hold for 20 mins before hanging up on you. It is nearly impossible to get a hold of their customer service reps. DO NOT BUY THE EXTRA DELIVERY COVERAGE. This is a scam. They will not do anything extra if you pay this money, nor will they even take your call.

I've had two orders with this website and both have been terrible experiences. I followed up on my first order after the items hadn’t dispatched by the dispatch date. I was told that the coffee table I ordered was never actually in stock and so was refunded for that item. The other two items, cushions on backorder, have since had their estimated delivery dates pushed out again – currently 6 weeks from purchase date. A second order, for a mirror, also didn’t dispatch on the due date and I also had to follow this up with Temple & Webster. I was told that the item I purchased was also not actually in stock but there would be another deliver of stock soon. After three weeks I was told that there was still no ETA on the stock from the supplier, so I decided to cancel the order. On cancelling the order I received an email to say that the cancellation was pending, a second email quickly followed to say that the order could not be cancelled. Immediately after that I received an email to say that the order had been dispatched and there was no way of stopping it. When I received the mirror, it was different to the one pictured on the website. The company doesn’t know what stock they have and does very little to assist customers.

Dreadful experience. Will never us again! Ordered a bed and only received the side rails. When I queried where the rest of the bed was they sent me two more side rails which I then had to label and organise to ship back to them. Finally got three more boxes after 3 weeks of fighting with them and am still missing the final box to put the damn thing together. First and last time I will ever use them .

I received an ottoman, one leg wouldn't screw on. Emailled them and they said they couldn't replace just one part so they sent me a whole new ottoman and told me to either keep or discard the first one. I think their service was brilliant. No complaints
