This place is amazing! It has a lot of different garden related shops all together. We bought a persimmon tree from an excellent range of fruit trees and the man who served us was so helpful, he even pruned the tree for us so it was done correctly. We talked to another man about apple trees and the staff all took time to make sure we got the right thing. My children really enjoyed the Collector's Corner part which has a lot of rocks and crystals, also a water wise shop, ponds, cacti, gardening goods, you name it, this place has it! Well worth a weekend visit for anyone who is into gardening. Prices are comparable to most other nurseries, wouldn't say cheap, but the plants look very healthy and of good quality.

I took my Japanese friend here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the $25 lunch deal. Both of us had a lovely entree and main ( fresh and well-presented fish and seafood included) with excellent service and a drink each, we had a great time. It was crowded but there seemed to be no pressure to leave quickly. I will definitely be back! Afterwards a stroll along St.Kilda pier gave my friend a very nice impression of Melbourne, thanks Beachcomber!

This shop makes it easy to buy wine and get your tatts ticket as you walk home from the station. Staff are always friendly and they have a large selection of wines at reasonable prices. If you are stuck in traffic in Poath Rd waiting for the railway crossing, why not just stop here and get something while you wait!

This shoe shop is a bit hidden but just go out behind Oakleigh Cemtral and you will find it. A huge selection of very fashionable shoes for cheap prices, even comfortable shoes for middleaged women like me! I actually bought a pair of runners for my daughter and the salesperson was friendly and helpful and we found a pair quickly and easily. Worth a look for good value shoes, a wide selection and in a convenient spot for me anyway!

This is a great combined nursery, cafe and gift shop. It is particularly nice to sit outside on a nice day as you eat and feel surrounded by beautiful plant displays. Inside the cafe has slightly pricey but delicious lunches? My favorite part where I could stay and browse for hours is the shop which not only has garden items, but also has unique ladies clothes, children's items,many many gifts, jewellery and home decorations. I find it a great place to buy presents for friends and family. It is almost a wole day out just to visit this place by the time you have eaten, drunk, looked at the plants and looked in the gift shop, enjoy!

This nursery has the most amazing collection of plants, shrubs, trees, veggies and more! We have bought wonderful quality fruit trees from them that have gone on to flourish and they seem to have some more unusual types of things that you cannot get in most other nurseries. The service is great and you will certainly get inspired to get out there and make your garden more beautiful by going to this nursery.

Let's face it, for sewers these days there are not many shops left other than Spotlight and the odd Lincraft. That is why we should support these independent material shops! This shop has good value, some different fabrics and experienced and helpful staff. The trimmings are great particularly for any costumes you might need to make. I have also found nice cottons for summer dresses and useful remnants.

This is a great place to shop for discounted supermarket products with friendly service. In particular, the frozen food and dairy products have cheaper prices than supermarkets and are all brand names. As well as the retail shop in front they supply in bulk to people who on sell products in their large warehouse at the back. I go there to get the family snacks for the weekends and holidays at a more reasonable price than supermarkets!

This place is very close to where I work and the most popular spot for our staff to run and get some gourmet, yummy lunch food! The sandwiches are to die for, real salmon fillets, poached and succulent in a sandwich. Luscious donuts and many other special treats, great quality food.

In an old Post Office building hence the name and location in Maling Rd, I loved the great coffee and wonderful food, a local friend swears by the Bircher muesli but I loved the Truffle eggs and kids enjoyed pastries. Can be a little noisy and crowded but go a bit earlier, the food and coffee will always be fab!
