If you're looking for a unique and special gift for someone that doesn't cost the earth, you have to check out Abode and Bod. They have a gorgeous range of personal gift items that you won't be able to resist buying for yourself while you're there.

Enter and you'll find yourself in a sensory wonderland. Smells, textures, pretty things to look at ... you can spend an hour in there and still notice things.

They have cute and colourful stationery items, the most gorgeous fragranced candles, clothing, homewares, soaps, perfumes, fashion accessories, just lots of things to capture your imagination and wish it was your birthday.

The only thing they don't have is a gift registry. Now THAT'S a clever idea!

The owner is really friendly and takes obvious pride in her store. Located in Wilston Village, it's definitely in a good place. You can stop at any number of cafes and restaurants nearby to catch up with friends for coffee.

I went to Wray Organic recently to buy foods I needed for a new healthy eating plan. One of the staff walked with me around the store to find every item I needed.

I order ahead to make sure I don't miss out on the bread that I like too.

The coffee is delicious and you can get a range of foods ready to eat, dine in or takeaway.

Big range of healthy food items plus organic produce, free range eggs and even a good range of books.

There is plenty of parking but if you're not heading outbound on Kelvin Grove Road (to Enoggera Rd), you'll have to find a way to turn around and come back.

The staff at Mrs Flannerys are always helpful and friendly. I usually call before I go in for items that are in short supply such as Maleny Dairies cream or Ancient Grains oat bread. The staff put them aside for me.

There is loads of variety and I love the self serve 'buckets' where you take as much as you need in the brown paper bags.

I recently bought cream at the beginning of my errands and the girl gave me a frozen pouch, wrapped it all in paper and also gave me a polystyrene box to keep it all cold. GREAT service!

Parking is free and plentiful at the front. Only problem is accessing the carpark from Webster Rd outbound.

Open 7 days which is also very convenient.

This review is for Au Cirque, New Farm QLD

I'd heard that there was always a line up for breakfast at Au Cirque so when a friend suggested we go on a week day morning, I was pleased to see we could sit straight down and order. Service was friendly and food was delivered promptly.

Great eggs and bacon, excellent coffee and kind of a quirky layout. We headed up the steep steps and sat at a large table.

Thoroughly enjoyed our mid-morning breakfast and will go back again.

I was hoping for bacon and eggs but they only serve honey baked ham. No big deal, it was delicious anyway. They make their own honey baked ham on the premises.

Scrambled eggs were amazing, nice and creamy and plentiful. Excellent coffee, very friendly service with a smile.

No menus, you just choose what you want from the blackboard at the counter. Plenty of seating options in this very small cafe, including on the footpath.

Take a look!

THE best place for Eggs Benedict in town!! The eggs they use are superb, really rich with beautiful orange yolks. The hollandaise was delicious and the bacon nice and crispy. Coffee was great too.

They only do Eggs Benedict on weekends but at just $15, it seems very reasonable to me.

Staff are very friendly and helpful.

If you're an Eggs Benny fan, you MUST go to Cafe Portofino's!

Went there on a Friday morning so not very busy. Staff were not particularly friendly, no smile, no chat. I ordered a sugar-free iced coffee with cream. It was handed to me without cream and when I asked for it, there was no apology or smile, she just added it and handed it over.

A bit of enthusiasm would go a long way at this store.

This review is for Boost Juice, Springfield Lakes QLD

I was really hoping for a vegetable juice when I went to Boost Juice at Springfield Lakes. Usually that involves celery. Unfortunately, there was no celery available, odd for such a busy, popular juice bar. Made up the shortfall with beetroot.

Staff are teens and were very gossipy. Had to wait at least a minute before being acknowledged for the girl at the front counter as she was busy gossiping about a previous customer, in front of us.

Juice was delicious. Prices are above average. Range is good.

This review is for Pancake Manor, Brisbane QLD

I've been going to the Pancake Manor since about 1985. In that time, hardly anything has changed which can be good and not-so-good. The food is the same, which we count on but the decor needs a serious revamp.

Every time we go to the Pancake Manor we say we're not going to eat much but every time, we do! And we always say we're not going back, but we do!

Try the chocolate pancakes, awesome! And you can't go past the delicious whipped butter, a staple we rely on to still be there.

Play a game of pool while you wait for your meal. Staff are always run off their feet and service is usually slow. But we forgive all and return every six months or so.

One of the best things about Pancake Manor is it's open 24/7 so you can always count on a magnificent carb-fest when you need one!

This review is for The Smoke BBQ, New Farm QLD

Four of us went there for lunch recently and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The chips are crispy, the coleslaw is creamy and the meats are delicious! For starters we each had buffalo chicken wings with blue cheese dressing ... awesome!!! Then we each had a po'boy sandwich with chips and coleslaw plus some pulled pork. The beef on the po'boy is smoky and morish.

We could have been tempted to spend more had the staff been a little more attentive. Staff are polite and friendly but could take the opportunity to upsell more.

Great setting, easy and free parking in Coles centre carpark and PLENTY of menu options for lunch and dinner. Highly recommended!

By the way, they offer takeaway too.
