A little overpriced and incredibly boring, Ho Choi, manages to take the most cliched Chinese food (I use that term loosely) and make it nice and greasy. When every dish is just Chicken + x, or Chicken + y, then you know they don't really care, they just want to make some money.

Great German food. The pork knuckle was good and the rissoles were okay. The beer is excellent, or so my friends told me, as I wasn't drinking on the night. I need to go back when I am.

This wonderful Chinese restaurant serves a wide variety of authentic Chinese food with an emphasis on southern Chinese food. They also do Peking Duck. I suspect the owner or chef is from SIngapore. We really enjoyed the prawns (not that into Peking duck)

These sort of places are beginning to pop around Brisbane. Little shops with a focus on Japanese Udon Noodles. You can have a meal for between 6 and 8 dollars. This includes noodle and rice dishes (the noodles are faster that rice). You can also order various Japanese street food as side snacks.

Approximate cost: $8

This restaurant is good at what it does, which is Swiss (and sometimes German) dishes. The Sweinshaxe (pig in red wine) is great, while their platters are okay.

The main problem is that it is Swiss food which is not that exciting. Worth popping in to try and I like the restaurant, just not convinced about the cuisine. Maybe I should have ordered something different.

A Malaysian Chinese restaurant with satay and Melaka Beef on the menu. There are Chinese, Malay and Thai influences on this menu (Maybe the owners are from Singapore, but I forgot to ask).

We focused on the Malay and Singaporean dishes, because obviously these are what they specialise in. Yes they have some of those "Chinese" dishes you really only find in Brisbane, but you can easily go for items on the specials menu.

They have a nice nasi goreng (fried rice) and the Malaka Beef (check the spelling, that town can be spelled in numerous ways), satay chicken and some things off the specialty menu.

So this is a basic Chinese restaurant selling the stuff you expect from a Chinese restaurant in Brisbane (no idea where you would find half the menu items in China). Nice price and good service, so it will fill you up, which is what counts some times.

Great place and not that expensive. We went there for drinks and ordered some of the share plates which are a little expensive even though they are fairly big (the whole tapas thing is overdone in Brisbane at the moment) but they also have cheap options as well. My friend ordered Lotus Root chips which they liked (But I have always hated lotus root), some sliders and calamari. All good with the section of beers.

This is the sort of restaurant that can be seen as a perfect romantic secret. It is where you take a girl to impress her that you know of this little place.

Great food, though you might want to order entrees along with mains if you are hungry.

The desserts are also complex combinations of flavours and makes this place worth visiting just for dessert (maybe skip the entree so that you have room for dessert). The turkish delight is a combination of delight, ice cream and hand pulled sugar.

This great grill restaurant in Toowoong serves great food. Not sure about the Moreton Bay Bug Curry (but I think Moreton Bay Bugs work best when they are cooked simply), the Atlantic Salmon was good. Need to go back and try the veal or the lamb shanks (we spotted them across a crowded room and it was love at first smell)
