This place has not really ever been convenient for me to get to at lunch, but sometimes it is worth the walk. Their main item is sandwiches, on bread, rolls, baguettes and bagels.

At around $7 for a sandwich they are priced competitively in the city (I know places that are much cheaper).

They also do rice dishes and tacos, but people come here for the bread.

Approximate cost: $7

While the food is nicely presented, the experience overall is not that great. The barrumundi was okay, but the chicken was unexciting.

It was quiet there on a weekend, so it is not a popular place to go. You end up spending too much for too little.

We are talking here are beautifully presented and prepared Thai food. I personally have a preference for cheaper Thai places, because they mostly have the same food, only cheaper.

However Thai Rose has a few dishes that are harder to get elsewhere, such as Tamarind Prawns (a unique flavour), Duck curries and so on.

Well worth checking out, The best value for money options are the packages that include entree and main together. However this generally excludes the more interesting dishes.

With lunch prices starting at around $12 and dinner around $14 this is one of the best value for money locations in Eagle Street pier, especially for dinner.

For the location and price, the food is pretty good. Dinner for $14 with river views, what do you expect.

There is a strong Asian selection here as well, which may be the better option.

I don't get excited by donuts, but recently we grabbed a few from here. They were nice, with some interesting options. I had the chocolate filled one which was nice, but maybe a little too sweet. My friend had a pink one, not sure of the flavour.

This is a nice place for a seafood buffet, but the selection focuses on great seafood rather than interesting seafood dishes. Still I wish I had known about this place last year when my friends came to visit Australia and wanted to try the seafood.

Buffet lunch is #37 while dinner is over $60, so maybe the dinner has better options.

Oh by the way, this is one of the places with a high tea that isn't overly sweet. Yes they have a chocolate High tea, but the regular one is a good compromise of sweet, savoury and mildly sweet options.

Such a cool little cafe in the part of the city that attracts people working in Eagle Street. But this is a place you want to linger in and shop, rather than have a power lunch.

The high tea is great and a perfect way to enjoy your morning.

This is a quality steak house that knows how to things other than steak well. With the share plates it is best to get seafood, while the steaks are great.

The desserts are interesting too, which is a pity because everything else fills you up first.

This is one of the late night options in the city. Not cheap and perhaps rather expensive, it is still a nice option for coffee and cake after dancing in the LIvewire bar on a Friday and Saturday night.

As far as I know the kitchen closes at 12 pm, which means for late night meals the options are limited.

This place specialises in steak but also does a range of other things on the grill.

The interior is very elegant, especially in the day, while it is a little dark in the evening (we went in there on a summer day, so it was light when we arrived, but dark when we left). I think they are going for the mood lighting at night, but it just gives it a slightly seedy feel.

Anyway, not the best steaks in Brisbane, but good value for money. Great chips too. But not my favourite place for steak.
