This review is for Madtongsan Restaurant, Brisbane QLD

Elizabeth Street is Brisbane's little Korea. Madtongsan is one of the legendary places here. The best options are the Bibimbap (fixed rice dishes). You are served a bowl of rice and other ingredients and you mix them together. Some come in hot stone pots with raw meat, which you mix and cook).

I don't get to go here as often as I would like as Friday nights and weekends it is full of students eating their favourite Korean dishes.

This review is for Fat Noodle, Brisbane QLD

This restaurant has become legendary in Brisbane for its eclectic high end noodles. It takes famous noodle dishes from around Asia and the world and makes them with the best ingredients.

Myself and my friends all feel that this place is not really value for money, but still worth checking out once.

This review is for Jade Buddha, Brisbane QLD

Why go to the Jade Buddha? Well it is a great bar that attracts a wonderful crowd. There are views of the river. Dinner is expensive but lunch deals are great value for money.

It really is the one place at Eagle Street Pier that doesn't put on airs.

This review is for Ahmets Turkish Restaurant, South Brisbane QLD

I love this restaurant and I love the food. Never order the share meals unless you are a big eater, because they give you way way too much food.

Definitely recommend this restaurant, but it is not really a cheap meal option.

This review is for Govinda's Vegetarian Restaurant, Brisbane QLD

Govinda's is a legend among thrifty vegetarians. It focuses on Hare Krishna cuisine. This means no garlic (and maybe no onion). Other than the lack garlic the food is tasty and pretty cheap.

Govinda's is always a great option when you don't have much money or are looking for a cheap meal. It doesn't matter if you are vegetarian or not.

This review is for New Chungshan Restaurant, Chermside QLD

verified email - 15 Nov 2015

This restaurant has been in Chermside from years and years. When it comes to Chinese cuisine, they have a focus on Hong Kong/Cantonese food and they only speak Cantonese.

The food is that typical food that has passed for Chinese food in Australia for many years. There is a wide variety though and they have excellent tofu (they used to make their own, but now they buy it).

On the North side of Brisbane it is really your own often for anything close to actual Chinese food.

This review is for The Beach House Bar & Grill, Chermside QLD

verified email - 15 Nov 2015

The Beach House is still the best option in Chermside for a range of meal options at a reasonable price and in a relaxed atmosphere. Pretty much everything else around here tends to specialise in particular foods, cuisines or is over priced. This is what brings me back to the Beach House.

This review is for Thai Ayuthaya Restaurant, Chermside QLD

verified email - 15 Nov 2015

Ayuthaya has a number of special and delicious dishes for which they are famous for. This restaurant only has a few of those, along with various cliched Thai foods.

Overall it is an okay Thai restaurant, especially for Chermside.

This review is for Mekong 2 Chinese, Chermside QLD

verified email - 15 Nov 2015

Okay so you can't really expect much from a Chinese takeaway named after Vietnam's most famous river. I mean, yes, the Mekong originates in Southern China, has a different name and completely different cuisine.

Okay so what you get here is the usual collection of Asian stir fry dishes that they do in Australia and you won't find in China.

Kind of oily, but okay. They do some vegetables that are nice too. But nothing special.

This review is for Chermside Quality Meats, Chermside QLD

I don't often buy meat from here, but when I have, the service has been outstanding and quality brilliant. It is particularly good to buy something sausages from shops like this, because they only use the best ingredients and don't fill the sausages with junk.
