Ajisen Ramen are just as good as always! They are so good, I take friends here all the time!

Their bento, ramen, and set meals are all tasty, and prepared with the same flare.
If you are looking for healthy, light, delicious lunches that won't break the bank, this cute, fast restaurant will suit you perfectly.

This review is for The Tuxedo Cat, Adelaide SA

The Tuxedo cat has moved venues. It is now located at 54 Hyde Street Adelaide - just off Pirie street.

The Tux Cat still supports great independent theatre. and still has a great vibe. However, in the room we were in, there was no air-conditioning or fans, and it became swelteringly hot. I felt like I couldn't pay attention to the comedy show we had paid $20-odd to see.

I still LOVE the Tuxedo Cat, but I do wish there were some fans in the spaces, as it is hard to recommend shows to friends knowing how hot and awful the space can be.

This review is for The Deli, Thebarton SA

Oh! I can't believe I've never reviewed The Deli before!
I used to live around the corner from this Thebarton institution. We would go here once a week. Now I am a bit further, it still gets an occasional visit. The breakfasts are great - the full breakfast has a beautiful handmade hash brown, and the poached eggs are perfect. The outdoor seating is great, and the whole place has a laidback vibe, vintagey and comfy.

There have been times when the food has been a bit inconsistent, but overall it is a good solid 4 for breakfast.

AMAZING FOOD! We had beautiful share plates: some crab cakes, some croquettes, some salt and pepper squid, and two side plates - mac and cheese, and a salad with pears in it.
Everything was delicious! We planned originally to get some mains too, but we were too full to contemplate them.
The decor is wonderful, light and airy, with these lovely lights that are kind of made of weaving, like baskets. So pretty.

We had a few glasses of an Adelaide Hills pinot gris, because we weren't really there to have many drinks; just to eat a lovely dinner and have fun, a mini-date with my boyf.

Pirie and Co is the perfect place for that! I totally recommend it.

Great bar and venue! There is an awesome front area where you can sit and people watch with friends, or a back area where you can sit and watch bands on weekend nights.
The drinks are regular prices, and they do food, although I haven't eaten here for a couple years, so I can't comment on the quality.
This place does have excellent atmosphere though, and a great, grungy, gritty front bar - so many different spaces to enjoy.

This review is for Concubine, Adelaide SA

I've avoided this place because of the pricing - it is a lot more expensive than the cheap eats on the rest of gouger. However, my boyf had a work-related event on, so we had the pleasure of eating here.
The food is amazing. We all shared some entrees. The san choi bao, the wontons, the shallot pancakes and the dumplings were totally amazing entrees. They were more high-end and fancy than your regular asian restaurant food, beautifully prepared and presented. Ditto the mains - my partner and I shared the chicken mince and a pork belly dish, and barely got through half before we were delightfully full and happy.
I would happily recommend Concubine, in comparison to any restaurant in its' price range. The food is top-tier, elegant chinese: a step below fine dining, and about three above cheap gouger street chinese food. Not a style that is seen enough in Adelaide!

This review is for Earth's Kitchen, Adelaide SA

We only had coffee here today. But the staff were adorable and the decor is gorgeous. There is beautiful seating outside, and the inside area is a perfect mixture of the old world architecture and the cutesy, vintagey vibe particular to lefties, artistic types and vegans everywhere!

If you are vegan or vego, I would recommend giving Earth's Kitchen a go for the vibe at least. The fact that there were so many happy looking people being served makes me think the food must be good too.

Their coffee = fabulous.

This review is for Shanghai Garden Restaurant, South Plympton SA

We were driving back from a weekend at a beachhouse and were too hungry and tired to wait for dinner, so we ate at Shanghai Garden.

There wasn't anything standout about the food, it was all pretty standard, but the food was good, hot, and sated us nicely. I had a nice beef claypot and my boyf had the szechuan beef, which had a good kick.

If you're in the area, this one will hit the spot.

This review is for O'Connell Street General Butcher Shop, North Adelaide SA

verified email - 04 Feb 2016

O'Connell Street General - the Butcher has the most fantastic meat. We are particularly enamored of the grass fed steaks.

However, you do pay more for their high quality, and I have found that to buy organic elsewhere can sometimes be cheaper than buying regular meat here.

That said, these guys are open to 10pm, their produce is amazing, and their chicken satay sticks are so good, they could almost be dessert.

This review is for Push Pin Botique, Adelaide SA

Push Pin is still the most amazing boutique. They now have their own range of clothes: beautiful, well-designed dresses that straddle the line between vintage and new style!
If you are into vintage, as I suspect a lot of readers are, please visit push pin, and be delighted by their amazing, affordable range of vintage, their amazing vintage and new jewellery, and their very own lovely line of dresses.
