For the holidays, I went to Perth to visit the other side of my family, and this place was the site of a large family dinner.

I had the chicken breast with polenta and spinach, which was absolutely delicious. Others had the fish and chips and pasta dishes, but I wasn't too focused on their stuff, as I was too busy devouring my own and drinking the lovely wines.

The menu is not cheap, but the quality of the food reflects the pricing, and the staff were wonderful. The decor is excellent and if you live in the area and haven't tried the Whistling Kite, I recommend experiencing the laid back elegance and tasty food!

The abyssinian was quite a favourite of mine for awhile. However, they seem to have a new chef or manager, and the food has gone downhill. Now it is just ok-good, not mind-blowing, and if you don't live in the area, it's hard to find the impetus to make the journey to eat there.

I do hope their quality gets better, and if anyone else eats there and finds it has gone back up, I hope they will let me know. For now, this one's off my regular list.

This review is for a basic trim, nothing fancy - so if you are considering Underground Haircutters for a colour or something, I wouldn't be able to tell you whether they are good or not. However, my cut was quite good.
I wanted blunt ends, which is something most hairdressers balk at. I've lost count of the times I have asked for blunt ends only to have the hairdressers sneakily start to feather the ends. My hair has enough waves and movement that the ends don't need softening - quite the opposite - weighing it down helps!
The best part was that the hairdresser did not pressure me for a blow dry, or any of the usual aggressive upselling that I hate!

The final charge, because it was such a small trim, was only $48.

It's great to find a salon who will just do the things you want!

Oh MY GOODNESS! Yesterday, the boyfriend and I went shopping for groceries, miscellaneous things, and a new bed. We stopped off at Arndale and realised we were starving! He saw Dumpling Magic, and wanted to eat there. I was dubious. How could a dumpling place in the middle of a shopping centre be any good?

Fast forward 20 minutes, and I've just eaten the most delicious crumbed pork chop I think I might have EVER had!
I am so glad we ate here! The boyfriend also LOVED his hot and sour soup. In fact, it was so delicious, we couldn't leave the leftovers behind. We had to ask for a takeaway box.

***About the decor and the service: this is a restaurant in a shopping mall, and the plates of food are ridiculously cheap for the tastiness - $10 each. (Around $1-2 more than Dumpling King, but so much better quality!). So it's wise not to expect the best service, or the most fantastic decor. The place is nice and average, and the service was a bit wonky. But the food makes it 5*.

I heard about this wonderful service through the word of mouth of friends, so I wanted to share it with WOMO customers too. Ciaron does the BEST job I've ever had on a bike. I had a flat tyre, and I needed one new tyre as well, but I couldn't afford to buy the second new tyre. My bike was going to look silly with a new tyre and a silly old tyre. So Rushy put the second one on for free. It was so kind!

So, he serviced my bike amazingly, and gave me a free tire along with it all. And, it was half the price of having it all done in a regular store.

Call him for a quote! You will love his work as much as I have, I am sure.

This place is never as full as you would expect from the size and quality of their meals. I suspect that if they were in North Adelaide, they would be quite busy. Their pizza is the equal of any pizza around that area!

Cafe Michael 2 have gotten better! I ate some takeaway from this restaurant recently as my boyfriend loves them, and the food was great. I had a beef dish and my boyfriend a chicken one, with the little chicken purses (I've forgotten their name, but they are like a little ball of mince and stuffing wrapped in crispy wonton type wrapping) as an entree. Actually quite delicious, will be coming back.

A really lovely old-fashioned style lolly store where you can choose from a variety of loose lollies. The per-weight price is reasonable, unlike some others in the city, so it's always a treat to go and see a movie and grab some lollies on the way. The sour cherries and sour peaches are my favourite!

This bakery is the jewel set in the gold that is Elizabeth street, Croydon. Their baked goods are creative and artisnal without being too weird or overly expensive. Everything they do, is done with love... from their tarts to their pies to their amazing rolls. The decor is cute, although the place is often packed. My fave is a chocolate crossaint eaten out on the lovely bench seating outside!

This cafe is so picturesque. There is a lovely outdoor seating area in what appears to be the old front garden of the old Storefront. It's a fantastic place to sit and drink a coffee.

The food here isn't as great as other places on the street, but because of its beautiful outdoor areas, it's the perfect place to drink a tea or coffee, and for that I wholeheartedly recommend a visit!
