These reasonably good value for money cafe in the city has a decent lunch, but also caters to people who want to grab something and return to work.

I don't want to say friendly service, but efficient during the rush without feeling rude or abrupt (that is an achievement).

I think I attended a function that ordered one a few of their great platters.

Good food for the start of a night out. A little bit too much fried stuff, which goes well with beers. Though there are some healthy options, including burgers with salad on the side.

It is okay for lunch too. It is good when they have meatball subs on the menu. Yes, let's face it, I go here for the unhealthy options.

Went here for breakfast. The options include the standard stuff like a big breakfast, but the more fun things are pancakes with fruit salad and omelettes, which of course was what we chose.

Moondoggy's is a very Noosa place to eat.

This review is for Castros Bar Restaurant, Coolum Beach QLD

So we went to this popular spot up at Coolum on the weekend. Really nice atmosphere. Relaxed, but not too casual, quirky but not crazy, good prices but not cheap.

The seafood can be a bit over priced, but other things are great. Had some pizza, pasta and salad and were very happy. The cocktails were good too. Just have to choose the right one for your tastes (my friend ordered a cocktail that was too sour for her and I ordered one that was too sweet for my tastes, but a quick swap solved that).

This review is for Grasstree Restaurant, Peregian Springs QLD

If you are looking for a great restaurant at a reasonable price, then the Grasstree at the Peregian Springs Golf Club is the place to go.

Lunch will set you back around $10 to $20, but the food and setting should fetch a higher price. Not really my thing as I would prefer a place that is more relaxed, but we were nicely dressed and going with some friends.

Definitely one of those little secrets that shouldn't be kept secret.

This review is for Zeus street Greek, South Brisbane QLD

Zeus Street Greek in South Bank serves both classic Greek food (which is a little boring) and some innovative dishes (which are not).

They have a takeaway and delivery menu. It is great to pop in here for lunch and grab a pita to go (the chicken is great, the meatball, mustard relish and chip pita less so).

Went back here the other day for there new cocktail menu. Tried the fig cocktail (one of the best sour cocktails I have tried) as well as the Mastic Mule (sweet but not too sweet). My friend ordered the Maria Rose which combines rose syrup and mezcal (a cocktail of delicate colour and flavour that will not so delicately knock you on your butt).

We Ordered these with the calamari, some sweet pastries and pitas and had a lovely night.

If you love milk shakes, this is the place to go to in Brisbane. The shakes range from the simple to elaborate and decadent creations with chocolate, sprinkles and marshmallows on top.

They do serve them in those silly jar things instead of classic milk shake glasses, but that is just something we have to put with in cafes at the moment until people get sick of it.

Beyond the shakes I am not so sure about, but the menu looks interesting. Will need to return here.

This review is for Public Bar & Restaurant, Brisbane QLD

verified email - 04 Jun 2016

There are a lot of cocktails bars around now with every restaurant, cafe and bar offerring their selection. The Public Bar has a good selection of cocktails, a great selection of wines and even some dessert and fortified wines (my preference is to order something fruity to go with dessert and have a dessert wine with say a cheese platter).

Overall the food selection is good but really pretentious. It just doesn't match the atmosphere here on a Friday night after work. But come here on a quieter night and you can have an enjoyable meal.

German sausages on quality bread rolls with some sauerkraut. Enjoy it with some German beer while you are there, especially if you are having a spicy knakworst. They even have vegan options that kept our veggie munching friends happy.

Theoretically this should be a great place for cheap meals and drinks. Everything is reasonably priced but the quality is not that good. I have to admit that there is an extensive menu, so maybe we are just ordering what they are not very good at.

Been here a few times and always think it would have been better to go somewhere else. But having vented a little I have to say, that you can grab some of the share platters, pizzas etc and some drinks and chill here.
